Resumen
One of the highest priorities in the teaching of mathematics is to develop mathematical thinking in students, which allows them to solve problems, communicate, analyze information and apply procedures, which is why the pedagogical efforts of this subject should focus on strengthening the learning these skills. The main objective of this research is to develop didactic strategies that, based on the game, allow strengthening numerical thinking in preschool students of the Technical Educational Institution Nuestra Señora del Carmen Aguachica, Cesar. This research project was developed through the action research methodology with a qualitative approach, where the theories about meaningful learning in preschool education are exposed; in addition to identifying the competencies, abilities and skills that students have. According to the documentary analysis, 80% of the children lose the mathematical test, because the teaching of this has become something more textual and not practical. Regarding the diagnostic test, it is evident that there are many shortcomings in most of the numerical thinking processes. In conclusion, it was possible to socialize the primer with the preschool teachers to make them aware and participate in this process, in which they provided valuable ideas for the construction of the didactic unit, it cannot be implemented with the students due to the pandemic, with what is left as a proposal for the institution to implement it in the time that classes are retaken.
