Introduction. Quality of life is defined as total satisfaction in the physical, mental and social fields; which can be affected by the presence of periodontitis, which is a chronic inflammatory disease that occurs mainly in the adult population, affecting aspects such as relating, eating, chewing and being able to carry out daily activities. Objective. To determine the oral health related quality of life in adult in adult patients diagnosed with periodontitis, who attend the Postgraduate Periodontics clinics of the Santo Tomas University in 2020 and 2021. Methodology. A cross-sectional analytical observational study and non-probabilistic convenience sampling were carried out. The sample consisted of 95 patients who attended postgraduate periodontics clinics in 2020 and 2021, who met inclusion and exclusion criteria. Each patient answered the OHIP-14 survey done in Google Forms prior to giving informed consent; The information was collected in a database in Excel, and it was analyzed in the statistical package STATA 14 in which a univariate and bivariate analysis was carried out. Results. 60% of the population were women, with an average of 43.69 years. The periodontal disease with the highest prevalence was stage I gado A periodontitis with 42.11%. The dimension with the greatest impact was that of psychological distress, with an average of 4.32 ± 1.89. Regarding the comparison between the sociodemographic variables, the stages of periodontal disease and the quality of life, no statistically significant difference was observed. significant, but it was recognized that there is a low quality of life related to oral health as the disease worsens. Conclusion. Postgraduate periodontics patients diagnosed with stage IV grade C periodontitis presented a greater impact of quality of life related to oral health, which indicates that the quality of life of people with advanced periodontitis is affected by this pathology.
