This research approach the musical genre of Rap in the city of Bogota from 2006 to 2020 as a social field from Bourdieu's theoretical perspective. This implicates that there is an investigative development focused on the relational and historical aspect so the understanding of the musical phenomenon is analyzed from three categories: Production (historical/social), aesthetics (as a system of beliefs, contents, and forms, specifically located spatiotemporally) and consumption (establishing the public as an active agent in the future of Rap music). The document makes a historical characterization of Rap in the city and accounts for the dialectical relationship that exists between work and social reality, investigates the various actors involved in the field, the aesthetic lines handled in the historical evolution, its transformations, and the consumer positions. Assuming that Bogota Rap is a dynamic social field that is struggle from its dynamics and that therefore, it is important to be in a constant process of reflexivity in charge of all the agents that are related to the field.
