For the development of this project, Helmholtz coils were designed, built, and tested with the objective of magnetizing seeds of common tomato (Solanum lycopersicum) to compare them with the control group with the same seeds and qualities. The purpose of this work was to develop a magnetic germinator that contributes to the growth and development of seeds. The effect of a 10 mT magnetic field (verified from a Hall effect sensor) for 10 minutes on the germination of common tomato seeds was studied. Likewise, the increase in biomass was analyzed and recorded for the control and the experimental group obtaining positive results in germination. To expand this project, it has been proposed to implement a controller for the Helmholtz coil that allows to find the desired magnetic field.
