This report of intership in energy company Boyacá S.A under the name of “network management data of the energy company S.A by Orion system” as a requirement for completing studies at the university of santo tomas tunja, it was intended to install, deploy and configure a tool for monitoring data network called Orion SolarWinds created by the company, making a bahavioral análisis of the data network during the period from December 1, 2014 to june 1, 2015. Therefore there was an expectation by the group of engineers from the computer address wich focused on to have a tool that could monitor the network
Because in EBSA there is a tool for monitoring the network but the IT management was not being implemented, it decides to install and implement the Orion NPM (Network Performance Monitor) software of the SolarWinds company. The first stage of the process in general features began with the consultation of the state of the art about the selected tool, then continued with the installation and implementation of this tool; followed step tests with different nodes were chosen choosing the primordial ones of the company; Finally, reports on the state of the network were created in real time and monthly to boost the prevention and maintenance processes. Reports were periodically shown to the network administrator engineer at EBSA depending on the behavior of the nodes, interfaces and volumes regarding their availability, use of resources on the monitored devices, applications and protocols that were most used, as well as statistics of traffic as packets transferred and received, among other aspects.
For the development of the practice, work was also carried out in the telecommunication area with the implementation of IP telephony, CISCO tele presence and installation of Switch and router to increase the speed of the company to 10 GB.
