Resumen
The growth of air traffic in Colombia has been reinforced since the 1990s by a public policy of liberalization of airspace, and by the redirection of public and private investment towards the modernization and updating of airport infrastructures. In the aerospace sector, and in this same period, the Colombian flag airline (Avianca) was privatized and new national and international air operators entered the market. “Since 2012, air fares are totally deregulated. As a result of public and investment policies in the last two decades and means of transportation of passengers in Colombia grew by 863 %” (Diaz, O. 2017). To meet this excessive demand, the next degree project in which a forecast of the demand for air transport (passengers, air cargo and operations) will be carried out in the short term (4 years) with an economic analysis executed with the Software RStudent. The purpose of the forecast or forecast that is made for an airport type `` distributor '' (“hub” in English), therefore the International Airport of Bogotá-ElDorado (hereinafter) will be taken as a case study BOG), which meets various characteristics and the need for its forecast of growth in air transport, being the capital and the main airport of Colombia. But both the forecasts of BOG's master airplanes and several technical studies estimate a growth in demand that the current (and future) airport capacity cannot accommodate.
