Resumen
In the Vargas Swamp there are currently four (4) aqueducts that supply the entire path, of which none includes a potable water service as required by the Ministry of Housing, City and Territory in resolution 0330 of June 8, 2017, increasing the risk of generating diseases caused by bacteria such as Escherichia Coli. For this reason our goal is to characterize the system and develop a proposal to improve the ACUAVARC aqueduct. Within the methodology that was carried out, the ACUAVARC aqueduct system was characterized and evaluated in all its stages; By means of analytical and statistical procedures, a database was obtained that takes into account the shortcomings of water supply to all points of the aqueduct. In a second stage, the sustainability of the water resource was evaluated and the reason why the current treatment system does not have the capacity to purify water.
According to the risk index of water quality has a high level for human consumption according to the Ministry of Environment, Housing and Territorial Development in resolution 2115 of June 22, 2007 and problems are also found in different stages of the system; a proposal is generated that in turn will improve the health conditions in the Pantano de Vargas village by providing them with an adequate supply of drinking water.
