Resumen
The objective of this research exercise is to analyze the relationship between barriers to access
to healthcare services and perceived stress in patients diagnosed with hypertension who have
been in partial confinement due to COVID 19, with a group of older adults who are part of the
project "Centro Día los cerezos'' of the Social Integration Secretary in the city of Bogota. For
this purpose, scales of stressful events and healthcare services evaluation surveys were
applied to 73 older adults out of the 94 that were in the institution's registration database at the
2021 cutoff. This study was carried out through the analytical empirical paradigm and a
quantitative approach was proposed through a non-experimental transectional exercise with
correlational scope. As the main conclusion, it was obtained that, the more barriers to access
to healthcare services, the more stress the older adults present, which can increase the
symptoms of HTN. Among the most significant results, the "correlation stress/EPS processes
total qualification” and the "correlation stress/global total experience" yielded results of
0.232* and -0.268* respectively, understanding that (*) represents a statistically significant result, which finally suggests that the more barriers to accessing health services, unwanted
outcomes associated with stress and the course disease are more likely.
