By enrolling in the "Teaching Philosophy" course, offered by the
Universidad Nacional de Colombia1, I felt a great motivation, because there is little
training offered by Universities to secondary school teachers in the area of
philosophy. Although specialized courses are given in philosophical subjects or in philosophers,
few courses focus on teaching philosophy as
subject, and that they work on its didactics, methodology, curriculum, etc. This course
promised to fill that void, since it claimed to have as its goal: “Contribute to the
teacher training in the area of philosophy, reflecting on its
teaching in secondary education ”2.
The course program announced addressing the subject in two modules: one
historical, whose objective was to approach the conceptions about pedagogy of
some of the most representative philosophers in the history of thought; and other
methodological, which would deal with the central problems of teaching
discipline, the management of basic concepts and the use of methodologies3
