Resumen
The environmental management within the University Santo Tomás Multicampus has
allowed guiding the design, monitoring and improvement of environmental policy within
the institution, since this, renews performance and ensures communication with the
university community and its surroundings. As an educational institution, its purpose is to
provide quality services by articulating various disciplines where its purpose is to provide
the community and social environment with activities aimed at the achievement,
development and improvement of their physical resources, technological, educational
and scientific [1].
This document presents the design of a green purchasing manual as a tool to establish
controls in the purchase of supplies and services, integrating to this work the analysis of
the life cycle of the drink mixers used in cafeterias and University offices with the
purpose to identify impacts generated by this activity as a representative input of the
institution.
It is also part of the work carried out, the analysis in the SimaPro software that helped to
establish the impact profiles of the drinks mixers used within the University, For this the
visit was made to the company Promociones Fantástico S.A.S. where the production
process was recognized along with its inputs, outputs, raw materials and inputs that will
be part of the results produced by the software.
On the other hand, the life cycle analysis made it possible to take actions aimed at the
development of the institution’s environmental strategies, promoting an improvement in
the University’s internal processes such as the substitution of inputs, control and
management of resources.
