This research was related to the use of Origami as a didactic tool to promote the development of fine motor skills in children aged 5 to 6 years in the 2021 school year of the preschool of the Municipal Pedagogical Educational Institution of Pasto. Origami or origami is a tool that contributes to the integral development of the person; therefore, it is a pedagogical activity in the teaching-learning process. In childhood, especially in the first years of life, motor development plays an important role, which may be well prepared to start the reading and writing process; have the ability to acquire the most knowledge and develop their full mental potential.
Research techniques were used, such as the interview and observation files aimed at children and teachers of the Municipal Pedagogical Educational Institution of Pasto. Origami is considered as a tool, an art and a technique for the integral development of the human being, becoming a pedagogical activity within education. Based on the results obtained, a tool was made for teachers, children aged 5 to 6 years and parents, which consists of several activities, in person and also through virtual activities with their respective learning guides with Simple and easy to make origami figures according to their age, which allowed them to develop fine motor skills, memory, concentration, and, at the same time, strengthen their creative action, be more communicative and social in a joyful and fun way, acquire precise movements and coordinated by putting into play their visual-manual coordination, gestural communication from the respect of their individuality and communication with their environment.
