The present investigation is based on identifying and categorizing psychological factors, sociological and interactionist that affect the permanence and/or desertion of students university students, making reference to the "Ser Pilo Paga" program, for this purpose a documentary review of 40 articles, which serve as a tool to analyze the different factors to study. This research is of a qualitative approach of type no experimental, since the variables are not manipulated, in the same way, it presents a design descriptive cross-section, where it is sought to investigate the incidence of one or more variables in the university students who make the decision to defect and / or stay in the programs offered by high quality institutions. In this research, a matrix of classification, categorization and incidence of the different factors to carry out the compilation and analysis of results. Adjusted to the above, it was found that at the time of making the decision to defect the characteristic of higher incidence in the psychological factor is the lack of motivation of the students, in the sociological factor, the family influence, and Finally, in the interactionist factor, the lack of quality of education teachers higher. On the other hand, regarding the permanence, it was found that in the psychological factor the most referenced characteristics in the literature are referred to optimism, self-control and self-esteem, in the sociological factor is the family as an entity cross-sectional and in the interactionist factor, the main axis is the different relationships that the student achieves with the institution.
