The plaster is used in various productive activities highlighting the construction industry, the dental sector and goldsmith. These sectors generate large amounts of waste that, added to those already generated by other activities, alter environmental conditions, by not receiving treatment and being dumped in sanitary landfills, contributing negatively to sustainability, increasing environmental damage that is sometimes irreversible and has consequences. negative on human health.
Due to its chemical composition, gypsum has properties that give it the ability to be reused and used as an additive in the preparation of concrete. The present work incorporated residual gypsum from the dental preclinics of the Santo Tomás University through concrete manufacturing processes, considering reincorporating the material mitigating the environmental damage generated by its final disposal. The new material exhibited strengths below 5 MPa (20%) and specific crystalline phases of the analyzed materials.
