Resumen
This document focuses its objective in analyze the financial exclusion, the use of non-formal sources of financing and informality in the food sellers in CORABASTOS. The data were collected in field through employment of a structured questionnaire. Based on Probit models, the relationship between financial exclusion, the use of non-formal sources of financing and informality in the supply center is estimated, in order to finally make an intervention proposal that contributes to reducing the levels of informality and the use of of non-formal sources of financing in the merchants of the analyzed sector, promoting the level of financial inclusion of this population. The results show that the variables: use of non-formal sources of financing and informality do not explain, simultaneously, the financial exclusion, but if they do it separately. Additionally, this evidence that the age, the degree of schooling and the possession of guarantees explain the possession of formal credit; while variables like the use of cash for transactions and the use of informal financing alternatives are significant in explaining the tenure of bank accounts; it is also found that some of the variables that measure informality such as the balance statement of profit and loss and health payments reduce the probability of having more specialized financial instruments such as insurances.
