Resumen
The objective of this study is to evaluate the behavior of a cold mix manufactured with high RAP contents, a hot mix and with rubber grains, by evaluating a full-scale test section, built within Unidad Administrativa Especial de Rehabilitación y Mantenimiento Vial – UAERMV, in order to solve the environmental problem based on the stockpiling of milling material in the open air.
The research line corresponds to the characterization and behavior of materials, for which the inputs used in the construction of the three types of asphalt mixes were first characterized, then the mixes were designed and then the test section was built on a real scale, to be subjected to the same traffic and weather conditions. Finally, the vehicular flow that circulated through the segment during the analysis period was quantified and mechanically evaluated through macrotexture and microtexture parameters.
Among the most important results, it was obtained that the section built with 100% RAP cold mix is a feasible alternative for roads with low traffic volumes in the city of Bogota, supporting about 500,000 equivalent axles of 8.2 tons, being an economically, environmentally and technically viable proposal that allows the expansion of the UAERMV's intervention goal, benefiting more families in depressed sectors of the capital District.
