Quantitatively determine the translucence and fluorescence properties of vitreous ceramics for CAD / CAM. Dental materials must have properties that simulate natural tooth, so there is a wide variety of these and it is difficult to choose the subjective evidence about the optical properties and not have a precise measurement technique for this. The Emax CAD HT and LT blocks, Empress CAD HT, LT and OM, Suprinity T and HT, Vitablocs as the real life, Mark II and Trilux, all of color A2, are evaluated. The results showed a similar pattern for all brands, Empress CAD HT being the most translucent and Real Life the highest fluorescence. These properties vary according to the wavelength, the microstructure of the material and analyze the chemical elements present that provide the color properties of dental ceramics.
