Resumen
This project refers to the design and implementation of a three-phase energy meter for non-linear electrical systems implementing the IEEE-1459 standard, which is a standard definition for the measurement of energy in balanced, unbalanced sinusoidal and non-sinusoidal conditions. Current meters do not implement this standard and were designed assuming that both the voltage and the current were sinusoidal, therefore the existence of unbalanced loads and the disturbances that these generate to the 60Hz electrical network were not considered, as mentioned by Andrew J Berrisfold in the harmonic impact project [1]. Given this, energy companies are not correctly charging KW h per month to homes, residences, industries, etc. . Therefore, it remains uncertain whether the value of the invoice is greater or less than the correct value.
To analyze the problem it is necessary to mention its causes. One of them is the evolution of technology. These days it is common to find electronic devices in homes, such as: computers, televisions, blenders, etc. . When making the energy measurement, these devices generate harmonic distortions which are not being correctly
analyzed on the meters.
The importance of studying and analyzing the IEEE-1459 standard is due to the uncertainty that exists in domestic and industrial energy measurements. When creating a meter with hardware and software that allows to measure a load in any condition and use the corresponding signal analysis based on the standard, to know if the consumption is lower or higher than that which has been recorded. In this way, you can start looking at the regulations that meters must comply with in Colombia in order to present to the market an improved meter in its measurement.
This project is carried out by selecting the type of development card to be used for the measurement of three-phase signals, after having the necessary instruments, implement the measurement system, where from its Fourier coefficients of voltage and current, the std IEEE 1459 of 2010, which is based on the measurement of energy in single-phase and three-phase systems with unbalanced loads with their respective formulas. Once the results have been obtained, a comparison table will be made with other meters to determine a percentage of error and guarantee the results obtained. Finally corroborated the data, through a web page the exact value of monthly consumption to the companies is displayed
of energy.
