The determination of bearing capacity and other mechanical properties turns out to be one of the most important technical aspects in geotechnical engineering. Therefore, specialized equipment is required to obtain physical characteristics in the soil to be studied.
In this work the design and construction of a prototype for on-site load plate testing is carried out under static conditions. This allows to determine the ultimate load capacity by obtaining stress-deformation curves obtained with field testing and in parallel determines some resistance properties in situ.
For the development of this project, a geotechnical characterization of a lot located in the Quintas neighborhood of the city of Tunja was carried out. So a series of manual type scans were run with sampling. Laboratory tests of both classification, strength and deformability were designed.
Finally, a test guide, a technical data sheet and an on-site load plate equipment operation manual were generated.
