One of the problems of pig production is the waste of excreta, which can be subjected to anaerobic digestion treatment for the production of biogas with high methane content. For this reason, a dynamic mathematical model of the anaerobic process was developed and implemented in the software Matlab R2015a 8.5.0.184244 by means of the Simulink tool. The model of the anaerobic process considered three phases, following a 1st oreden cycle for Phase 1: hydrolysis, a Monod kinetics for Phase 2: acidogenesis and acetogenesis and Phase 3: methanogenesis. This model allowed to simulate with a specific substrate (pig excreta for this project), the theoretical amounts of biogas produced, achieving a first approximation for the production of simulated biogas with respect to the real data obtained for the start of operation of a biodigester. However, it is necessary to consider other additional processes, to simulate processes of decline and inhibition that occur in the same. Information on the anaerobic process and the different fundamental biological reactions that affect biogas production was also provided, presenting information for application in local conditions.
