Resumen
Ephemeral architecture constitutes an essential part of the history of art and architecture, having as its main characteristic its short duration; these constructions have antecedents in our history, from ancient Egypt, later in the renaissance and in the baroque period, reaching their peak and reaching their maximum splendor at the end of the 19th century in the universal exhibitions, these being the first stages for new trends and styles of ephemeral Architecture, a method that gave rise to the application, experimentation and use of new materials, achieving works of architecture that were iconic elements and models of great technological advances. This project proposes an ephemeral structure for the Colombia pavilion at Expo Dubái 2020, which took into consideration the master plan determined by the organization. Colombia defines its participation within the Opportunity district, a sub-theme of the Expo. The proposal also accepted the terms and references dictated by Procolombia, as an authorized colombian entity. The case study placed special emphasis on the theoretical foundations of the four elements of the origin of Architecture, exposed by the Architect Gottfried Semper, which led to the conceptual development and subsequent materialization of the Colombia pavilion. The architectural and formal solution of the object is based on the conceptualization of the tectonic (light), which is related to the Wayuu weave, typical of the ancestral knowledge of this culture and the stereotomic (solid), in relation to the site where the Colombia pavilion (Arab Emirate, Dubái), and its subsequent location, which responds to the disuse suffered by these structures after the exposition ends. From the conceptual union between the tectonic and the stereotomic, an articulated mixed technique structure arises that exposes a native skin with movement, sun protection and permeability with the environment, maintaining the interior-exterior relationship. Its content is fragmented into a continuous nucleus, a void and two multiple rooms that rise on a steel structure.
