Currently the Metropolitan Area of Bucaramanga have the problem of definitive Waste Disposal by landfill closure Carrasco, for expiration of the environmental permit and the absence of a new site for disposal of waste; this situation has generated interest by Santo Tomas University Representatives cafeterias in Bucaramanga for Strengthening the Management of Waste Generated During the development of ITS activities.
In the coffee shops have identified shortcomings in the management of waste generated during the development of their activities as the preparation, sale and consumption of food; generated by the absence of guidelines, training of workers and Inadequate segregation, handling, transport and storage of waste managed, hindering the use of them.
In order to Strengthen the comprehensive management of waste generated, the diagnosis of internal management of waste is carried out in each of the cafes, identifying develop activities, types of waste generated, the color coding of the bins used, storage sites and knowledge of waste management by workers and customers.
Consolidated this information, the plan for integrated management of solid waste from cafeterias Santo Tomas University Bucaramanga, it include procedures for each type of waste, internal transport route, training and training for workers and customers.
