The purpose of this paper is to verify the viability of the elimination of compulsory military service in Colombia, since it has been verified that the burden of providing compulsory military service falls on the people of the less favored social classes, and these They also assume the risks, they are considered to lose the opportunity to perform a better paid job, the remuneration received by the conscripted soldiers, which makes their opportunity cost is diminished and in short, they all lose opportunities at a high cost.
