| dc.description.abstract | Abstract
This review article presents different Universities in Colombia that offer the Doctorate in Law higher education program. The research titles that are elaborated and deposited in the virtual repositories of different Colombian universities are also discussed in order to show research trends at Doctoral level in the branches of law. To identify these research trends, the lines of research of the Francisco de Vitoria Research Center of the Santo Tomás University are taken as reference. Secondly, this article highlights the positive aspects of studying a Doctorate in Law, since it can improve research, and scientific and economic skills. This review article reveals the salary and value of teaching hours in various higher education institutions available to teachers with a doctoral degree.
