Resumen
"In current rehabilitation therapies for joints in the upper limb,
external factors that negatively decrease this process. Among these factors, the low
availability of specialists, assistants, equipment and difficulties in transporting the patient
to the centers where these procedures are performed. These factors increase the cost and
hinder the recovery process of patients. Given this, it is relevant to evaluate new
procedures or elements that facilitate reproducibility, reliability and reduce the
complexity in the execution of physiotherapy.
Through this work, the design of an exoskeleton is presented to assist the rehabilitation of the
movement of the elbow in the sagittal plane. The designed device seeks to replicate the
biomechanical conditions of an efficient process of assisted rehabilitation of flexion-extension
of the elbow and in this way, in future works, to be able to evaluate the performance of this type of
devices in direct or remote assistance work in the kinesiotherapy of this joint."
