Resumen
The objective of this research is to explore and identify how collaborative work activities can have an impact on the strengthening of the speaking competence on seventh grade students of a public educational institution in Medellín-Antioquia, this project was carried out through a permanent observation of the educational process in the classroom.
The implementation of this exploratory research model has to do with the way in which learners build up knowledge, taking into account their preferences when learning the English language.
Throughout the research process, data was collected with transcriptions of oral interactions carried out in the classroom and interviews with the students as main sources of analysis, the teacher's perception about learning and teaching the English language, as well as his commitment and dedication with the students in order to strengthen the student´s needs in the classroom.
