There are many peace initiatives that sprout in the midst of societies in conflict
armed, seeking in some way to help mitigate this and build what many yearn for, the
peace. Different actors have promoted the search for peace and the school has not been oblivious to this,
from there efforts are made to contribute to the construction of peace. The present work is a
commitment to this contribution from the educational field through the understanding of forgiveness
as an important act in the reconstruction of the social fabric that is broken by the damage; Yes OK
It is from the national point of view and the peace process that mention has been made of forgiveness, which is
here is that the school becomes a space for a possible culture of forgiveness that
lead to understand and respond to the damage no longer from revenge but from forgiveness; that
school responds to the times we live in and to the hope of a different country from the
recent peace process. Difficult yes, but not impossible, there are many achievements in school that
can be expected when forgiveness begins to circulate in this realm, lives transformed
of children and young people devastated by violence; the promotion of another way of understanding
the damage. However, its limits will also be many, one of them the understanding of forgiveness
in terms of the unforgivable, in a society that has lived immersed in more than fifty
years of conflict.
