Introduction: The present project approaches the form of how older adults have an oral condition and analyze how their quality of life is influenced, this is done with the purpose of making an academic and social contribution that serves as a tool for future studies. For this you can select the elderly in the nursing home FUNDELUZ in Bucaramanga, Santander, and that you do not have knowledge of this type in this same place in this way and this way, you look in the terms of knowledge and education in dentistry to patients and caregivers of the aforementioned institution; under these terms, both the problem statement and the justification are presented, which is integrated into the text of this document, in addition to aspects related to aging, its impact on physical condition and oral health; It also addresses issues related to the quality of life, emphasizing its relationship with oral health in the elderly; We analyze aspects related to institutionalization and study the context of the FUNDELUZ geriatric home.Objective: To analyze the association of the perception of oral health with the quality of life in elderly people linked to the geriatric home "FUNDELUZ". Materials and methods: An analytical observational cross-sectional study was carried out. The universe is composed of 120 older adults and the sample consisted of 36 residents who meet the established selection criteria. We studied sociodemographic variables, systemic condition, oral care habits, perception of oral health, social support networks, support networks of friends, the perception of quality of life (GOHAI). For the univariate analysis absolute and relative frequencies were calculated for the qualitative variables, and for quantitative measures of central tendency and dispersion, and in the bivariate analysis, dichotomized quality of life was related to qualitative variables and for this, Test Chi² or exact Fisher and in the quantitative tests T. of Student or U of Mann Whitney according to the distribution of the data, For all the analysis a level of significance of ∞≤0,05 is considered. Results: It was determined that of the study participants 11.1% (4) of the total respondents reported having a good perception of their general health, however, only 1 (8.3%) older adult refers to having a good perception of their oral health and none of them refers to having a good quality of life Conclusion: It was determined that there is no association between the perception of oral health related to the quality of life of the elderly participants in the study. It is necessary to seek comprehensive oral health care to contribute to improving the quality of life of institutionalized geriatric patients.
