Resumen
This research is located within a specific area of academic knowledge in Latin America, it is attributed the term ludology, which focuses on the theoretical and critical analysis of video games, taking into account within these: their design, their players and their impact on different areas of people's social life, whether culturally, economically and socially. That is why the interest of this research lies in analyzing the social representations that people configure about themselves in light of two levels: the real, the virtual and the link that the avatar has with identity.
The entry of the video game in this investigation lies on several issues. First, since I was a child, video game consoles were of great interest to me with the arrival of the PlayStation on my eighth Christmas, I spent hours playing in my room; this is how I met my friends, inviting them to my house to play; after some good years shared with this console. As the years went by, I moved away from these video games, but I listened to many acquaintances who were still attached to them. My cousins, my uncles, my friends only talked about computer games or the new console that was going to come out, which is why, after a few semesters, it sparked in me the interest in taking this research to these fields.
