Resumen
As a result of the COVID-19 contingency, strategies that sought to mitigate the spread of the virus were evidenced, for example, the implementation of education modalities mediated by Information and Communication Technologies (ICT). Historically, the family-school relationship has been fractured by the low participation of the family system in the learning processes of students, therefore, the implementation of the ICT-mediated education modality became a challenge for all families. and educational institutions. Therefore, the problem question arises that determines the course of this research "How does the family structure influence academic performance in education mediated using ICT implemented due to the COVID-19 pandemic in children of 6 to 9 years? A mixed method was implemented with a quantitative approach that allowed the analysis of the results from the empirical-analytical and hermeneutical paradigms, by coding the data and analyzing the narratives. It was found that and additionally in the other systems in which they operate, it was also perceived that the demand on the part of the teachers decreased, generating an increase in academic performance. Finally, it concludes by highlighting the importance of implementing strategies and methodologies that manage to reduce the difficulties of the ICT-mediated modality and make it a useful, practical and functional tool for society.
