Resumen
The purpose of this research project is to determine if there are significant differences between Thinking Styles (EP) and Social Skills (HS) in students in the ninth semester of Mechanical Engineering and eighth of Social Communication at the University of Santo Tomás, for this, An evaluation of these constructs is carried out using the Social Skills Assessment Scale for Adolescents (EEHSA) and the Performance test. This is based on the quantitative approach, under a correlational descriptive methodology, with which it is intended to describe the data obtained from the mentioned variables, a statistical analysis is carried out from the SPSS program, in which the level of Significance of Mann Whitney's U, finding significant differences in the Empathic EP and in the Alternative Stress HS (HAE), in addition to this there are similarities in categories such as Decision-making Skills (HPTD), and in terms of skills with Opportunity for improvement in the two groups of students is the category of Social Skills for the management of feelings (HMS).
