Calidad de Vida en Mujeres con Reconstrucción Mamaria

Abstract

The quality of life of women diagnosed with breast cancer has been influenced to a large extent by the treatments carried out to reduce the negative effects generated by this disease. One of the treatments performed is breast reconstruction, which attempts to reverse the physical and emotional damage caused by the mastectomy. The objective of this study is to describe the quality of life of women diagnosed with breast cancer who have undergone breast reconstruction surgery of the autologous type at the Departmental Hospital of Villavicencio. In this non-experimental transactional design research, the FACT-B instrument is applied in a Spanish version and adapted in Colombia for the quality of life variable in 20 women from the city of Villavicencio. It was generally found that the quality of life of women is above 80, which is the numerical measure that has the test to identify that there is quality of life in these women. Mammary reconstruction and psychological accompaniment is part of the integral treatment to improve the quality of life of women; For this reason, it is very important to create a support network and delve into the subject by conducting more research in the Department of Meta.
