The thesis is a study of the Target Strength (TS) in the frequency of the 200 [kHz] which generates structures and fish that are part of the submarine environment found in salmon farmings. The study was done through digital echograms and the information existing in the Project "Losses Control" done by the Instituto de Fomento Pesquero de Chile, IFOP, (Chilean Fishing Development Institute), and the company Multiexport Salmons Ltd., in the period September 2000–2001. The equipment used for the analysis of data, is the developed in the Project FONDEF N°D97/2020 done by the IFOP: “Monitor to optimize the feeding process of farmed salmonides in floating cages using hydroacoustic techniques for its detection”. The identification of the echograms that had the target came first. Then, the target in the echogram was selected and the Volume Backscattering Strength or SV was calculated through the Visual Acquisition of BioSonics Inc. Once the SV was known, the TS was theoretically estimated. It was done in all the scannings in which the target in the echogram was selected. In this way, the TS ranges for structural targets and studied wild fish were established.
