Resumen
This document has as a main purpose is identify and analyze endogenous and exogenous factors which affect the formal micro companies productivity from Cucuta city, these factors were got from perspective of their managers. The quantitative data such as financial indicators, number of employees and stores, and some qualitative data like type operation business, sector, entity status and organization style were obtained from Chamber of Commerce of Cucuta city merchant registers.
Also, the factors data identified by small businesses managers were collected through meetings at their working places by using a structured application form. In based on ordinary least squares model (OLS), we estimated the factors profile which affect a micro business productivity levels. Finally, we could make a proposal in which any governmental and private institutes with or without profit motive can set their strategies up to promote the regional economic growing, and these small businesses as a main engine of local economy can get benefits from those strategies.
As a result, the factors named above show: manager’s age, real situation with Venezuela, difficult access to financial resources and high fee rates are statistically insignificant for the explained variable in this case, productivity.
Additionally, it shows that manager’s age, quality management system and strategy alliances are the most significant factors; therefore they are the factors which affect the microenterprises productivity the most.
