Construcción de la identidad lésbica en la universidad santo Tomás

Abstract

This project analyzed the influence of the context of the University of Santo Tomás in the construction of lesbian identity of students who identify as lesbian women. This analysis was done through a process known as6 triangulation, through 11 interviews to lesbian students, university staff and a teacher. It starts that identity is a building process which is molded by comparison, opposition to other groups, influenced by the space in which it develops as a subjective processes. The results shows that there is a process of construction of lesbian identity which traverses more or less similar stages, this lesbian identity helps in the process of acceptance and it is important because it gives a "we", a resource and belonging to something. Also it is recognized that within the university context is possible the construction of a lesbian identity and the Santo Tomás University has done an effort for being a is a space of inclusion, however there are not specific efforts , the university is in a process and is still much to be done.
