Supernumerary teeth are an anomaly characterized by the presence of one or more extra teeth in the normal dental formula, regardless of their location and shape. Objective: To determine the prevalence of supernumerary teeth in patients attending consultations between the ages of 7-16 years at the university Santo Tomás – headquarters Floridablanca. Materials and methods: A descriptive observational study of cross cutting was carried out, with a sample of 1208 available pediatric clinical histories for the years 2016-2018. The variables considered were sex, age, presence of supernumerary teeth, tooth type according to location, location, root development and position. Results: The presence of supernumerary teeth was 2.42% IC95% (1.36-3.46) which correspond to 21 teeth and 90% of the cases only presented one tooth, the mesiodens being the most found tooth, and the male population is the most affected with a 1.5:1 ratio. Conclusions: The prevalence of supernumerary teeth in patients attending consultations between the ages of 7 to 16 years at the Universidad Santo Tomàs headquarters Floridablanca is 2.42%. Mesiodens teeth were the most found supernumerary teeth and the least found was distomolar. The upper jaw is the site of the largest eruption of these teeth, often located in the midline.
