Pisco is the oldest designation of origin in America and its importance for the construction of the local, national and international identity of Peru. Having been the first Peruvian product to receive the designation of origin in 1991, it was articulated more formally with the identity of the country; Therefore, the objective of this essay is to reflect on the cultural importance of pisco as an alcoholic beverage for the country to understand the sense of identity and the position that has been maintained at an international level, hand in hand with proper management del Marketing of what has led to a pride for the Peruvian citizen; In addition to being an internationally recognized product. Hand in hand with historical characteristics and the struggle for power evidenced between Chile and Peru, two countries faced by the recognition of pisco as their own denomination of origin; You cannot associate this denomination with each country without underestimating the opposite country, due to the history, the management in the creation and the promotion of it; As well as its important association with culture and finally its national and international exploitation.
