Resumen
The purpose of this study was to identify the relationship between levels of psychological well-being, life satisfaction and suicidal ideation in a sample of 126 adolescent students between 12 to 16 years located in Soacha, Cundinamarca. A non-experimental, descriptive, correlational design was used. The scale of psychological well-being in adolescents (BIEPS-J), the Multidimensional Scale of life satisfaction in students (MSLSS) and the inventory of positive and negative ideation (ISSHL) was used for measurement. Within the educational institution and the orientation area, participants were selected from seventh to eleventh grade, sending each parent or caretaker the corresponding informed consent. Next, the results were registered in a database using the SPSS program version 22, where a descriptive statistical analysis of the information acquired was made.
In the research results low levels of Psychological Well-being were found, also average levels according to the variable life satisfaction, low levels in Negative Suicidal Ideation, consisting of risk factors and finally average levels in Positive Ideation, consisting of protective factors. Inversely proportional correlations between variables were found, explain by greater satisfaction and well-being is linked with less suicidal ideation and in turn a higher level of well-being and satisfaction is related with higher levels of positive ideation, that is to say, protective factors against suicide are presented.
