Resumen
The Municipality of San Carlos de Guaroa, Meta presents impacts on the environment mainly due to the agricultural activities that develop there. Such activities have generated the removal of plant cover for the planting and harvesting system of palm crops, including the adequacy of land in riparian areas, where ecosystems are intervened due to the richness of nutrients present in the Soil for plant growth. In this project was carried out the recovery of a stretch on the shore of river Guamal, applying the methodology of establishment of cores of native vegetation in concentric rings, in one hectare of riverside vegetation disturbed. The species selected during the sampling were identified from the reference ecosystem with the objective of the conformation of nuclei with specific floristic arrangements; in addition, community participation was promoted throughout the process.
For the establishment of the reference ecosystem, ten (10) Transects of 50 x 2 m – Gentry transects were delineated and established; In each of them were recorded all the species and their respective abundances. In Total, 2,649 individuals belonging to 51 species were registered, an analysis of similarity was carried out in the composition and distribution of the abundances in the transects in order to serve as a basis for the conformation of the floristic arrangements – design of the nucleation.
In the venue intervened were arranged two (2) types of layouts flora that alternated each; in total planted 800 individuals grouped in 12 species; equally were installed 26 hangers artificial for birds distributed in the middle of the cores, with the object of facilitating the dispersal of seeds and to contribute to the recovery of the area. The increase of the populations of typical species of native vegetation in this area and the increase of their forest cover, were the first signs of the rehabilitation process. On the other hand, the active participation of the community in the different stages of the process was achieved, accompanied by a socialization of the progress with the mayor's staff and leaders of the municipality.
