Los costos del transporte terrestre de carga masiva en Colombia y su competitividad

Abstract

The cargo transportation sector is one of the most important sectors of national economy, reached to transport 90% of the national cargo, these operations represent close to 140 million tons and 14.5 billion pesos per year. This sector of economy it is made up for two segments, courier and mass cargo transport, however, this investigation is focused on mass cargo transportation because has a close relation to foreign trade operations. The mass cargo transportation has kept a constant growth through year, however, nowadays this sector has a slowdown because the costs related to this activity increase and different economic factors of the market that later they got worse by pandemic crisis of COVID-19. This monograph it is focused on the necessity of know the variables in the tariff of cost in the mass cargo transportation by road and the impact in the competitive and develop of national economy because the freight cost and the cost of logistic operation in Colombia tend to be higher than transportation tariff in international routes for this reason the participation of local, regional and national companies in international markets is low.
