Resumen
The present investigation arises from the interest of identifying the relationship between the sociology of the body and feminized fatness, thus proposing corporality as a central element of the creation, normalization and reproduction of social relations that are crossed by violent discourses and practices resulting from non-compliance. of the hegemonic models of beauty.
To meet the proposed objectives, the comprehensive paradigm is used, through a mixed methodology that applies research instruments such as the online survey applied to 186 women and 7 semi-structured interviews with women who self-recognize as fat.
The voices of women self-recognized as fat will be made visible and who, based on their stories with fatphobia, decide to resist from the most common spaces they usually inhabit, thus contrasting with the women surveyed and their perceptions of what it means to embody a fat body. within the public sphere, establishing fatphobia as a systematic oppression that has given way to the sustainability of the hegemonic canons of beauty and the violence made tangible through social punishment as a result of its non-compliance.
