Resumen
The quality of the water is to important not only for the human being, also for all the planet. The evolution of society increases the demand of water resources and at the same time, increases the impacts on water bodies because this resource is not carried out in a sustainable manner on most occasions. The Oro river is a very important source of water in Santander, but was in the 10 most polluted rivers in the country in 2014, so in this work the quality of the water Río Frío was evaluated, where the comparison was implemented between the physicochemical and hydrobiology pollution indexes (ICO's), ICA, BMWP / Col, ASTP, among others, were calculated test “in situ” and others were taken in the SIHSA laboratory and according to these results the pollution indexes (ICO's), ICA, BMWP / Col, ASTP, among others, were calculated. The result was a collection of 107 organisms (total of 9 orders and 20 families), the ICOMI index threw a high level of pollution in the stations of Punete Rojo and PTAR – M La Esperanza, the ICOMO index threw a classification between low and media in all the stations and ICOSUS and ICOpH index showd no pollution at any station. In this case of the BMWP / Col and ASPT indexes, the BMWP / Col index is more sensitive in the differentiation of quality rating between the sampling stations, providing a better diagnosis of water quality compared to the ASPT index, which uses ranges of value of temperate conditions and an update to tropical conditions has not yet been carried out.
