Resumen
This article investigated the notion of "Economic Union", understood by the Eurasian Economic Union and the Monetary and Economic Union of the European Union. Starting from common concepts of the notion of "union" that each of the integration processes has. Theoretical Framework: The main theoretical supports of this article were the integration concepts collected from the theory of economic Integration Bela Balassa (1964), added to the Regional Integration Indicators: “Conceptual and methodological issues” by Philippe De Lombaerde and Luk Van Langenhove (2005). These two theoretical concepts are used in order to compare the two Unions. Methodology: In the academic article, the qualitative descriptive methodology was used in addition to the document review technique, complemented with comparative analysis based on three categories and subcategories of Lombaerde and Van Langenhove chosen by the author. Results: It is expected to make known through the theories, methodologies and techniques already mentioned the concept of "Economic Union" that these two economic integration processes have through the comparison of the two regional processes. Conclusions: It is expected to show the differences and similarities of the two integration processes as well as future challenges and current deficiencies. Originality: The innovation of this project lies in the fact of better understanding the two blocks by comparing them, especially to the Eurasian Economic Union since in Latin American academic this process of regional integration is very little studied.
