This research is focused on the study, design and implementation of a FTTH network using GPON technology, which can guarantee improvements in the speed and bandwidth of the population of Soatá Casco Central. It is supported by an experimental field research, since a real scenario with legacy networks is chosen in order to update, install and migrate the pre-existing infrastructure. For this, different deployments were analyzed that allow the inclusion of the latest generation standards and technology from the FTTx and XPON family. The information collection was carried out by means of bibliographic research, allowing to collect the primary data that allowed describing the scenario in which the network deployment should be developed, in order to particularize it and define topology, necessary equipment, human resources and suitable and adequate technology for the specific area of Soatá Casco Central. The FTTH topology and GPON technology were determined as those chosen according to international standards and recommendations, their technological and economic viability and their future useful life provision were made through project evaluation criteria, which allow evaluating scalability, equipment, synchronization, bandwidth, latency and other technical aspects. Finally, an implementation proposal is generated that technically presents greater speed to send and receive information that is the essential demand of the end user, opening a new scenario of culture of digital consumption and provision of high-end service adjusted to current market requirements. technological and global.
