Resumen
This research project is carried out under the Competitiveness approach of small and medium-sized companies in the Bogotá hotel sector, based on the growth that the tourism and hotel sector has had in Colombia for several years; This evidences the need to offer inputs to these companies to increase the competitive level they have, and in the same way, they can contribute to this growth.
Therefore, it is stated that the general objective of this research is to establish the level of competitiveness of small and medium-sized companies belonging to the Bogotá hotel sector based on the observation of their determining factors, based on: Identifying the determining factors for the measurement of the competitiveness level of the SMEs of the Bogota hotel sector based on a bibliographic review for the subsequent creation of a tool for measuring the level of competitiveness, determining the SMEs of the Bogota hotel sector subject to study from a process systematic collection of information through the tool built and the analysis of that level by size of the company and the sector in general. In the same way, it aims to become a useful input for the design of competitive strategies by the sector in question, and that in this way allows them to position themselves and leverage their level of profitability. This objective was fulfilled from a mixed study, which involved carrying out fieldwork for data collection.
The results of the research indicated that small and medium-sized companies in the hotel sector in Bogota have medium-high competitiveness, 3.84 on a scale of 1 to 5, and that, based on the observation of their determining factors, It concludes that they must improve in aspects of strategic planning and in the innovation of processes within the company.
