Estado del Arte: Investigación en Iberoamérica en torno a los inmigrantes y los medios de comunicación

Abstract

The purpose of this document is to give an approach to different perspectives of Iberoamerican authors, who use different theoretical and critical horizons in order to comprehend studies over representations of immigrants through media and their principal contributions. This allows us to embark on the path of theoretical and methodological perspectives that give a deeper understanding of factors to this phenomenon. This study was developed over an hermeneutical approach, generated on a research over articles which main topic was immigrants, to partial media treatment and social representation under different scenarios. Subsequently, fifty articles were chosen and organized in an analytic matrix that prioritizes our object of study, theoretical approach, contributions and recommendations for future research. In conclusion, it can be determined that research interests among media treatment over immigrants in different circumstances have wide range, are resourceful and valid; aiming to visualize social contexts that are relevant around the phenomenon of migration.
