Resumen
The factors influencing the level of cadmium available in the soil of the "Entre Caños" and "El Castaño" properties, where there are rice crops and a pasture respectively, were analyzed. The grounds are part of the Rincón de Pompeya sidewalk in Villavicencio-Meta. From field sampling, semi-structured interviews and Geographic Information Systems -GIS, the characterization, zoning and analysis of the points with the highest concentration of cadmium in soil was carried out. It was found that the soil has cadmium concentrations less than 0.1 mg/kg which is the maximum permissible limit of Royal Decree 1310 of 90, Spanish legislation, because in Colombia there is no specific legislation for this pollutant in soil. On the other hand, rice grains have a concentration of heavy metal up to 7 times higher than that of soil, exceeding the permissible maximum limits required by the Colombian Ministry of Health through Resolution 4506 of 2013, therefore, it is necessary to initiate contingency plan by Fedearroz to prevent the consumption of the contaminated product and also, the analysis of other heavy metals in order to ensure the safety of the product for human and environmental health.
