Resumen
The present research work, framed in a qualitative methodology under the biographical narrative method, aims to understand the construction of narratives of gender violence towards men in two family systems. To that end, an in-depth interview was conducted to gather information from two couples who had presented gender-based violence against men. Later, narrative analysis was used for the analysis or systematization of information. The instrument was applied to two couples (2) resident in Bogota and in the savannah of Bogota (Chía). The results indicated that the causes of violence against men lie in the roles they have failed to fulfil, in terms of what has been socially designated in relation to roles, moreover, the violence that women inflict on men is a form of empowerment that is overwhelmed by the violence that women have experienced historically.
