Resumen
The popular festivals in Colombia are fundamental part of the cultural heritage of the country, and are the product of a deep miscegenation, result of the social and geographical history of the country. Popular festivals are presented as mechanisms for the preservation of national identity, and they emerge from popular communicative practices, which are born of strong influences of European culture, but which take form in Latin America, and are transmitted through instruments such as Music and dancing, these festivities respond to the history of the country, and have strong influences of religion. They are a space of conformation of collective identities, which allows the identification of common values in a social group.
