Relación entre tipo sociométrico y rendimiento académico en estudiantes universitarios

Abstract

The present investigation pretended to describe the relationship between academic performance and the sociometric type in psychology college students in fifth and sixth semester from the Santo Tomas University, Bogota. The sociometric type got from the positive and negative nomination made by the students about the other people in their class. From these nominations, were assigned the sociometric types (prefer, not prefer, barely know and controversial), for the academic performance, the accumulated average and the 2018-2 average of each student was used. This investigation was made as a descriptive-correlational type, because it is looking to identify if exist a relation between the variables; for that, was used a sociometric questionnaire and an individual interview and was used the standard process to estimate the sociometric types (Garcia, 2006), and the statistic chi-square to describe the association between variables. Was found an association between the sociometric type and the average of the total sample.
