Resumen
The coverage of the armed conflict in Colombia, denied for eight years in the government of former president Álvaro Uribe, has become a subject of debate due to the recent dialogues for the end of the conflict by the Government of Juan Manuel Santos and the FARC EP. Colombia, since before its formation as a Social State of Law, has suffered various ideological and territorial conflicts that have made it a complex country at a political and sociocultural level, and have led it to violate some rights related to the freedom that every human being has of be able to express yourself without any kind of censorship. On the other hand, the case of Romeo Langlois put the question of how the coverage of sources by journalists in the conflict should be on the agenda of the media, taking into account the 33-day retention of the French journalist by the guerrilla group of the Farc. That is why this research will compile several moments in the history of Colombia and the world to show the first moments in which they began to talk about freedom of expression and the press, its importance, evolution and current situation in the country All in order to understand how freedom is necessary for a Democratic State and for each of the subjects who live there.
